“Success” is commonly defined as an achievement that one acquires after setting a goal or an aim to obtain it. The ability to garner success depends significantly on the efforts and tenacity of one’s actions towards meeting the aims and goals that a person has set for oneself. Today, when our graduates walk across the stage in their robes and caps, the strides that they will be making will be strides of triumph, knowing that each and every one of them has persevered to overcome various personal obstacles and challenges to arrive at what will be the start of their maritime career. Hazrat Ali Ibn Abu Talib mentioned “the most complete gift of God is a life based on knowledge” Our graduates are taught to value knowledge and skill by having to apply the latest updated version and making it visible at the workplace.
NMIT is proud to celebrate our graduates and their accomplishments today. The foundation that has been built through the years that they have spent with NMIT, strengthened by the support and love provided by the parents and families has produced graduates who possess knowledge and experience that will undoubtedly propel them to greater heights in whichever avenue their careers will lead them to in Malaysia or abroad. In a field that is driven by rapid changes, NMIT graduates are ready to be trailblazers that will ignite the new facets of the dynamic and demanding maritime industry. The vibrant maritime world is looking forward to welcoming you onboard.

The success that we are celebrating today is a culmination of the hard work and perseverance demonstrated by our NMIT graduates. What began as a journey of self-discovery while diving into the maritime world, the last two and a half years with NMIT have helped shape them into world-class maritime practitioners.
There is now a bigger need for graduates who are not only able to perform well in their studies but are also industry-ready. In recognizing this need, NMIT graduates are equipped with unique exposure towards both theoretical and industry experience provided by its esteemed academicians, supported by the collaborating industrialists, in preparing them for this challenging field that is constantly evolving.
The maritime industry is no stranger to the ebb and flood of changes. It demands precision in execution and ingenuity in approach, which characteristics our NMIT graduates embody. As technological advancements such as autonomous vessels, artificial intelligence and 3-D printing begin to play a role in the future of ports, shipping and logistics, it will be exciting to witness new revolutions impacting US.
Similarly it will be assuring to know that our graduates will be at the helm of these changes.
